Temperature control affects material flow, curing, part release, surface appearance, and cycle stability. When temperature behavior becomes part of a support question, the record should include both controller information and production context.

This note is for inspection records. Heater service, wiring, sensor replacement, or cabinet work should be handled by qualified personnel.

Information to Record

When temperature behavior appears abnormal, record:

  • Machine model and mold.
  • Material grade or material family.
  • Program name.
  • Temperature screen photos with screen titles visible.
  • Alarm message if any.
  • Whether the issue appears during startup, after warm-up, after a material change, or during continuous production.
  • Visible molding result, such as short shot, flash, burn mark, sticking, incomplete cure, or surface issue.

Do not change several temperature zones and process settings at the same time without a record. If changes are made, record the reason and result.

Machine and Mold Context

Temperature questions often cross machine, mold, and material boundaries. Barrel temperature, mold heating or cooling, material preparation, runner design, venting, and cycle timing may all affect the result.

For thermoset and silicone projects, temperature discussion may involve curing behavior. For engineering plastics or flexible materials, it may involve flow, drying history, insert condition, or part release. Keep the support message specific to the actual material and product.

Visual Inspection Items

From outside protected areas, look for:

  • Loose visible cables or damaged cable sleeves.
  • Abnormal smell, smoke, or discoloration near heater areas.
  • Controller warning or unstable displayed temperature.
  • Material leakage or residue near the injection unit.
  • Hot surface exposure risks around the working area.

If a hot surface or electrical concern appears, stop and follow site safety procedure.
