First Trial Run Checklist After Mold Setup
Use this first trial run checklist after mold setup to record machine state, controller program, first parts, alarms, process stability, and support evidence.
2026-07-12 - 6 min support note - Category: Operation Guides
The first trial run after mold setup is where many production issues first appear. A controlled review helps the team capture defects, alarms, movement delays, and program questions before they become normal production problems.
This checklist is not a parameter-setting guide. It is a record structure for first-cycle and early-run observation.
Before the Trial Run
- Confirm the correct mold, material, inserts, and controller program.
- Confirm the machine is warmed and ready according to site procedure and material requirements.
- Confirm safety devices and guarded areas are normal.
- Confirm part removal method and insert loading method.
- Prepare a place to separate first trial parts from approved production parts.
Observe Early Cycles
Watch mold close, table movement, injection, part removal, insert loading, and alarm behavior from a safe position. Record whether defects appear in every cycle, one cavity, one station, or after a specific operator step.
Common early-run issues include short shot, flash, burn marks, insert shift, difficult removal, unstable cycle time, and temperature alarms.
What to Record
Record program name, material, mold number, operator, first-part photos, rejected part count, alarm screenshots, and any change from the last known stable setup.
When to Contact Deboge
Contact Deboge if the first trial run shows repeated alarms, abnormal movement, unsafe workflow, or defects the site team cannot diagnose. Send controller screenshots and first-part photos with a short timeline.
