Controller Screen Information to Record Before Support
Record the right controller screen information before asking for machine support, including program name, alarm text, current mode, recent changes, and safe photos.
2026-07-12 - 5 min support note - Category: Controller Settings
Controller screens help support teams understand what the machine is doing at the moment an issue appears. A clear screen record can shorten the first support conversation because it shows the program, operating state, alarm message, and recent setup context.
This note is not a controller operating manual. Use it as a record checklist when your team needs to explain a machine condition to Deboge.
What to Capture First
- Machine model and machine name or internal asset number.
- Current controller mode, such as manual, semi-automatic, automatic, or setup mode if shown.
- Mold program name or number used for the current product.
- Alarm code, alarm text, or alarm history screen if an alarm appears.
- Current cycle step where the machine stops or hesitates.
- Recent setting group that was changed, if the team knows it.
- Safe photo of the machine area if the screen condition relates to mold movement, table movement, loading, or part removal.
Avoid cropped photos that only show one number without the screen title. A full screen photo is usually more useful because it gives context.
Why Screen Context Matters
Two issues can look similar to an operator but come from different conditions. A machine stop may be related to a safety device, mold closing sequence, injection stage, table position, robot signal, or auxiliary equipment state. The controller screen helps separate these paths before anyone changes settings.
For projects with insert loading or overmolding, record whether the issue appears before loading, after loading, during mold closing, during injection, during table movement, or during unloading. This timing is often as important as the alarm text.
Keep the Record Safe and Practical
Take photos from outside guarded or moving areas. Do not reach into the machine to improve the camera angle. If a video is needed, record it from a safe position and keep it short enough to show the exact sequence.
If the controller language is not English, send the original screen photo first. A typed translation can be added in the message, but the original screen is useful for checking the exact wording.
