Parameter changes are sometimes needed during trial, mold changeover, material change, or production recovery. The important point is not only what changed, but why it changed and what happened afterward.

A parameter change record helps operators, supervisors, and Deboge support understand the history of a production condition without relying on memory.

What to Record

Use a simple format that your team can fill in during production:

  • Date and shift.
  • Machine model and mold or product.
  • Program name or number.
  • Parameter group changed, such as clamp, injection, temperature, table, ejector, or auxiliary signal.
  • Previous and updated value if your site procedure allows recording values.
  • Reason for change.
  • Person who made or approved the change.
  • Result after the next trial cycle or production check.
  • Any part defect, alarm, abnormal sound, or unstable movement after the change.

The record should explain the intention. For example, “adjusted after short shot on cavity side” is more useful than “changed setting.”

Connect Changes with Production Results

When a defect appears after a change, the record helps the team ask a better question: did the defect appear immediately after the setting change, after material change, after insert loading changed, or after the machine had run for a period of time?

This matters for vertical injection molding because mold access, operator loading rhythm, insert position, table movement, material condition, and controller program can all affect the visible result.

Avoid Unclear Production History

Unrecorded parameter changes can create three problems:

  • The next shift does not know which setup is the current reference.
  • Support cannot tell whether the issue is new or carried over from a previous adjustment.
  • The team may spend time repeating changes that were already tested.

If production is unstable, pause and rebuild the record before making more changes.
